Usually hubby and I stay at the Hilton House Hotel when visiting Dunkeld / Birnum. However, early Friday am, hubby had a brainwave to give the lodges at Erigmore a try (his parents used to have a caravan based there some 30 years ago). Anyhow, a quick call and he spoke to Liz (very proficient) and she sorted out a lodge for us from Saturday through to Monday am. The lodge was simpy fantastic (no 9) - brand new with evey mod con you could want, very spacious and tastefully decorated (very boutique). The grounds themself are undergoing a little update with some new lodges being insattled which will look great once finished (but no issue to residents). It's clear that Erigmore are keen to invest in lots of new lodges to attact new / repeat customers. The grounds are nice and with the sun shining (on and off) it was great place to relax, get some fresh air and watch the world go by. We ate in the 'big house' of Saturday nigth and the service was very, very good - the food was nice and the 'cheesy disco' that they had arranged for entertainment was a good bit of fun. Sunday morning and we took a trip up the hermitage for a nice walk. We also used the pool and jacuzzi which were fine We also went to Howies in Dunkeld for a spot of lunch and then dinner on Sunday (its very good). Overall, this is in a lovely part of Perthsire, easily walkable to Birnum / Dunkeld and we really enjoyed our stay. The lodges were great and we will certainly be back.
